Therapy is so expensive.
I completely understand. Let’s side cost aside for a minute. Do you want qualified help for your sexual addiction? In working with an individual who has had specific training in the very reason you are seeking help, is actually a more cost-effective way to begin your journey to recovery. Certified Sex Addiction Therapists (CSATs) have access to a variety of assessments that the general therapists do not have. These assessments help me focus in on some of the underlying issues that may accompany your sex addiction. They are also used to assist in the recovery process.
I can’t afford it right now.
Your behavior has not stopped. You have been struggling with control for quite some time. If you wait any longer what will the additional costs be to you? As time goes on the sex addiction behavior usually becomes riskier. The bigger the risk the greater the likelihood that your behavior will be discovered. If you think you can not afford therapy, continuing to live the secret life has personal, emotional and spiritual costs. Is that a price you can afford?
I have insurance and want to use it
The way we work with insurance is to provide a bill to you that you may submit to insurance for possible out of network coverage. The only way to know for sure what your carrier covers is to contact them directly. Ask them how many in network and out of network therapy sessions they cover. In not accepting insurance reimbursement directly from the provider allows me to dedicate more time to your care. It also means that a treatment plan and updates, things that the majority of insurance companies require, are not submitted to your insurance company.
Investment
You deserve to invest in yourself to become healthy. So often throughout your life you have put your true needs aside. Often this is because you felt you didn’t deserve to care for yourself. Many clients have heard this since childhood. A parent telling their child “if you were only more like your brother (sister, the neighbor)” or after bringing home four A’s and one B “yes, but what about the B?” can have a lasting impact on the child. When you add that onto the ongoing message that whatever you did was not good enough, one develops a sense of low self esteem.
